REV 1 - Independent Reviews
Course overview
Do your trainees fully understand the differences in requirements between audits, compilations, and independent reviews?  Trainees often approach independent reviews with an “auditing mindset” and this typically results in more work being performed than is necessary.

This morning session focuses on the requirements for independent reviews (and how they differ from those of compilations and audits) and incorporates when reviews need to be performed, who can perform reviews, and the reportable irregularity reporting responsibilities associated with reviews.

What do we cover in this course?

  • The differences between compilations, reviews, and audits
  • Which entities need to be reviewed
  • Who can perform a review
  • The ISRE 2400 requirements relating to performing review engagements, with a specific focus on how they differ from the requirements of an audit engagement
